How to join a group with a group code

Group Leaders have the option to share their group code with potential volunteers. This allows them to create their own Altruist Volunteer Profile and send a request to join the group when they are prepared.

After signing into your Altruist Volunteer Profile, you may access Groups from any event webpage or volunteer landing page in the top left corner.

If you know the Group Code of an existing volunteer group that you would like to join, enter the code and click the Request button.

Request Group

After submitting your request to join a volunteer group, you can expect to receive a prompt confirmation email to let you know that your request has been successfully received. This email serves as a confirmation that your request is being processed by the group leader. It also provides you with the reassurance that your interest in joining the group has been acknowledged.

Your Request Has Been Recieved

Once a group leader receives your request to join a volunteer group, they will carefully review the information you have provided. They will assess your qualifications, experience, and any additional details you have shared to determine if you are a suitable fit for the group. Based on their evaluation, the group leader will then make a decision to either approve or deny your request.

If your request is approved, you will be notified via email and officially become a member of the group. You will gain access to all the benefits and opportunities that come with being a part of that particular volunteer group.

In the event that your request is denied, the group leader will also notify you via email with an explanation for their decision. They may provide guidance on potential reasons for the denial or suggest alternative volunteer groups that might align better with your interests and skills.
