How to add locations and shifts

Add one location or multiple where your volunteer event will be held. Then, create shifts to cover your event staffing needs.

Under the event details in the top navigation menu, you'll find Locations & Shifts. Click the + icon below the event title to add a location to the event. You can create a new location or click the three-dot menu to the right to add any previously saved locations instead.

Note: If you click Create a New Location, a pop-up window will appear requesting the Location Address, Location Name, and Location Description. Click the Save button to save and submit your changes.

While still under the Location & Shifts section in the top navigational menu, click the Click the circular + icon on the top right to add a new shift. Once clicked, a pop-up window will appear for you to input the following:
  • Shift Date
  • Start & End Time
  • Shift Description
  • # of Max Volunteers (if any)

Tip: Once the shift is created, as an admin, you can also manually add approved volunteers with an Altruist Volunteer Profile to the shift. 

To manually add a volunteer to a shift, click the Add Volunteers button in the bottom left corner of the shift information. Anywho who has already signed up and been approved from the shift will also be listed here. You can remove them from the shift time by simply clicking the X button by their name.

Tip: Enter at least 2 characters to begin search, Altruist will search and find volunteers with an account that match your criteria. Simply select the volunteer and click Add.
